An Exceptional Specialty Vintage
Leclerc Briant, one of the pioneers in biodynamic agriculture, produces champagnes that are unique, chic, and 100% organic.
Biodynamic agriculture, speaking in the ear of the wine
In the world of wine, biodynamic is the reflection and result of a viticulture the respects the vines, the earth, and the winemakers. From the grapes to the bottle, any chemical intervention is forbidden
Beyond this organic approach, biodynamic agriculture encompasses the cycles of nature with a special attention to the living aspect of the grapes and the vines… The different steps of the production process are based on lunar calendars. For an approach that respects the vines, for example, pruning is only done under a waning moon so that the sap migrates toward the roots. That means the pruning is clean, without spillage.
The Abyss Vintage
Leclerc Briant dedicated a portion of its 2012 harvest to a special vintage that is aged under water. The grapes that comprise this vintage are selected from areas known for their extra chalky soil, and have a perfect resonance with the underwater sediments in the Stiff Bay, near the shores of Ouessant Island in Brittany. After two years in the bottle, this special vintage has been transformed by its time under water by its third year. Abyss champagne evokes both its unique oceanic vibration and the fruity maturity of its vintage.
What goes in the Cuvée Abyss: Chardonnays from Bisseuil, pinots noirs from Avenay-Val-d’Or, and pinots meuniers from Vrigny represent equal parts of this unusual vintage with its unique echoes.
Key points for Champagne Leclerc Briant: With a deep respect for nature and the vineyards, the entire Leclerc Briant winery is certified organic and biodynamic.
Plus: Ready for market in 2020, another of the “Specialty” vintages is La Croisette. With the goal of making the purest of its wines, Leclerc Briant decided to line the inside of the walls of a barrel with 24-carat gold. Far from the wines with gold flakes, the idea behind this innovation is to obtain fermentation in contact with the gold and see the harmony as the two interact.
“Specialty” vintages, including Abyss: 130 €

An Audi 100% Electric Supercar
During the most recent Pebble Beach Automotive Week in Monterey, California, Audi revealed its new concept car, the PB18 e-tron; "PB" for Pebble Beach, "18" in tribute to the R18 e-tron, four-time winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans. This super sporty 775HP electric vehicle presents a radical vision of the high-performance sports car of tomorrow.
The Audi PB18 e-tron design was inspired by the traditional architecture of a mid-engine sports car with a cab that is positioned far forward. The center of gravity for this car is located behind the seats and in front of the real axle, which benefits the driving dynamics.
Front and Back Exterior Design
A flat red band of lights extends across the entire width of the rear and accents the horizontal orientation of the vehicle body.
The familiar hexagonal shape of the Singleframe grille, wide and horizontal, dominates the front of the car. The Audi logo runs across the front of the hood, in its signature sports car style. Large vents to the right and left of the front grille take in necessary air to cool the brakes and front electric motor. Wide and flat light units with integrated digital matrix technology and laser high-beam headlights complete the face of the PB18 e-tron.
Three Electric Motors and Quattro Drive
This concept car uses three powerful electric motors— one up front and two in the rear. The latter are centrally located between the steering knuckles, each directly driving one wheel via half-shafts. They deliver power output of up to 150 kW to the front axle and 350 kW to the rear—making the Audi PB18 e-tron a true quattro, of course.
Maximum output is 500 kW, with boosting, so the driver can temporarily mobilize up to 570 kW. The combined torque of up to 830 Newton meters (612.2 lb-ft) allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in scarcely more than 2 seconds. The driver can limit the speed to maximize range between charges.
The liquid-cooled solid-state battery has an energy capacity of 95 kWh. A full charge provides for a range of over 500 kilometers (310.7 miles) in the WLTP cycle. The Audi PB18 e-tron is already designed for charging with a voltage of 800 volts. This means the battery can be fully recharged in about 15 minutes. The Audi can also be charged wirelessly via Audi Wireless Charging (AWC).
Key points: The creators of this high-performance sports car designed it as a machine to drive on a racetrack as on the road. Dynamic Dynamic and exciting, this car excels with such parameters as powerful electric propulsion, lateral acceleration, and perfect ergonomics that determine every detail.
Plus: For driving solo, the entire cockpit can be positioned in the center of the interior as in a single-seat racecar— the perfect location for the racetrack. The idea is to provide the pilot an experience that is only available in a racecar such as the Audi R18. However, the PB18 e-tron also provides an exceptional everyday driving experience, not only for the driver, but also for a potential passenger.
Characteristics: 4.53m (14.5’) long x 2m (6.4’) wide x 1.15m (4.6’) tall; size of trunk 16.6 cubic feet; maximum output 670 hp (765 hp maximum in boost mode); 0 à 100 km/h in just about two seconds,; Range 500 km in WLTP cycle; tires 275/35 in front and 315/30 in the back; body in a mix of aluminum, carbon, and multi-material composites.

A Captivating Expression Of Time
One thing is for certain: once you have plunged into the depths of Medusa, it’s hard to look away. For its tenth collaboration with L’Epée 1839, Switzerland’s leading clockmaker, MB&F, the top designer of timepieces in the world, takes a dive into the warm ocean waters where intriguing and ancient jellyfish abound.
Medusa is double configuration clock, housed in a hand-blown dome of Murano glass. It can be ceiling mounted or placed on a desk. Medusa’s central section of hand-blown Murano glass calls to mind the bell-shaped body of a jellyfish. Two rotating rings—one for the hours and the other for minutes—are visible through the glass dome, and the time can be read from a single indicator that extends over the rings. A movement beating at 2.5 Hz (18’000 A/h) located below the time indicator, is like the pulsating heart of this mechanical creature.
Medusa can sit on a desk, or another other flat surface, thanks to a specific support with curved legs. This is designed to hold the base of the movement and allow easy access to the mechanism for winding and setting the time.
When the clock is suspended from the ceiling, Medusa changes its supporting legs for hand-blown Murano glass tentacles. Attached to the mechanism, the tentacles move softly with the slightest motion of the clock—recalling the movement of a jellyfish in the ocean currents.
Key points: Designed to evoke one of the most eloquent, yet mysterious creatures of the sea, Medusa blends exceptional artistic technique with Swiss clock-making precision, once again pushing the envelope of possibility.
Plus: Like a luminescent jellyfish in the depths of the sea, Medusa glows in the dark thanks to Super-LumiNova.
Characteristics: Total components: 231; Approximately 6kg; Dome and tentacles in hand-blown Murano glass; Movement and standing base in stainless steel and brass; Indexes with Super-LumiNova; L’Epée 1839 suspended movement, designed and manufactured in-house: Dimensions for the hanging version: 286 mm tall x 250 mm diameter, and for the standing version: 323 mm x 250 mm
