Created by Pierre and Claire Lacour in 1997, Sea Memory is a unique design boutique with exceptional decorative objects, whose goal is to present high-quality collections that are as unusual as they are varied.   The business is now a family affair as their son Edouard has joined in the adventure.   With a sole driving passion of excellence in artisanal design topped off by their use of the noblest of materials, the trio has spent the past 15 years developing a keen sense for creating a furniture collection and accessories designed partly by Pierre and Edouard. The shop centers around a selection of distinctive curios and works of art, as well as pieces by the biggest names such as Baccarat, Pent, and the Haas Brothers.   Whether you are seeking a special gift, a custom-made piece, or simply desire discovering an eclectic yet elegant universe, Sea Memory is an absolute must for everyone ready to be amazed.

It may be small in size, but filled with treasures for the eyes as well as the heart. Everyone is sure to find a piece that resonates with their inner child.

Open for the past two years in St Barth, Maison Pelican is both an art gallery and exceptional furniture shop. It has evolved into a “must” for those who love vintage and contemporary décor and interior design, an Ali Baba’s cave with a thousand and one stories and pieces to fall in love with.   Pieces with character or completely unexpected; there are not enough adjectives to describe this art collection, furniture collectible gems, extravagant pieces and even indoor and outdoor games carried by Maison Pélican.   With several floors of showrooms, this concept store features several hundred fabulous examples of mid-century design as well as ceramics from Vallauris, ethnic sculpture, and contemporary painting.   Discover lithographs by Benjamin Vautier or Jean Cocteau, vintage art posters, paintings by Pierre Malbec, Gangemi, Claude Viallat, Erro, and Antonio Ségui. Frescos and ceramics by Julien and Roger Capron, Accolay, and Cloutier. Furniture by Corbusier, Audoux and Minet, Guillerme and Chambron, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. As if a museum popped up in the heart of the portside town of Gustavia in the superb historic Caribbean building formerly Ets.Berry and in the shopping arcade on Rue du Roi Oscar II.

Les Petits Carreaux

Les Petits Carreaux

- One-of-a-kind objects, Art, Decoration, Souvenirs

There is a rather unusual boutique located in the Passage de la Crémaillère, right in the heart of Gustavia.   Les Petits Carreaux is also an art studio where Véronique paints beautiful tiles by hand, featuring the flora and fauna of the island. She has also created the iconic colorful signs that identify the island’s beaches, as well as custom commissions and original designs found in many hotels and villas in St Barth. More than a simple art studio-boutique, Les Petits Carreaux is also a true temple for unique souvenirs of St Barth! Here you will find many different objects and accessoires, from charming magnets to t-shirts.   No room to carry home one of Véronique’s magnificent reproductions of a painting on tile? You will also find the same designs on a collection of mugs, coasters, key-chains, and more! If you still need additional reasons to stop by, you’ll also be pleased to find a lot of small gifts on the theme of the emblematic Moke and small airplanes that represent the island, as well as a lovely collection of personalized towels and cushions. Definitely worth the detour.   There is sure to be a souvenir that will tempt you, either to take a piece of St Barth home in your suitcase, or present as a thoughtful gift to anyone who loves the island.

An internationally acclaimed artist, Kay Quattrocchi has collectors around the world (Australia, United States, Germany, London etc.) and her work has been sold at art auctions by Maître Cornette de St Cyr in Paris. She is a multi-dimensional artist (painting sculpture, and patented inventions) who has lived in St Barth since 1993. Her large work titled “Wall of Light” is installed before the Hotel de la Collectivité of St Barthélemy.   In the year 2000, she embarked on an ambitious creative process: to reunite Art and Science. In 2017, at the museum in St Barthélemy she organized the first event on the theme “Between Art and Science” with the participation of Dr. Philippe Guillemant.   Today, her art represents the world of astrophysics: The Higgs Boson, Neutrinos, Anti-Matter, Black Holes, Gravitational Waves, and she is fascinated by the notion of the Multi-verse and the quantum field. Her ultimate goal is to transcribe the movement of particles through her artistic creations as she explores the links that exist between Art and Science, between Conscience and The Universe.   Citizen of the world, she is a true globetrotter (Vietnam, France, Martinique, Morocco, Paraguay, Congo, California, Japan, Australiea French Polynesia, Europe…). The Polynesian government and the experts in the art of stamps from the French Post Office chose one of her works to be presented in the international philatelic collection: the “Stone Carrier” exhibited at Paris’ Porte de Versailles. For the bicentennial of the French Revolution, she created a hymn for 40 voices performed on French television, as well as the Marianne des DOM-TOM, of which lithographs were presented to French presidents Francois Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac.   She opened her first gallery in St Barth, Espace 21, she provided décor for hotels such as Guanahani, and for luxury properties such as Villa Wake Up. An ambassador of St Barth, she has created trophies for the winners of a photo contest held by the Gustavia Yacht Club for the best images of the Bucket Regatta, and has offered her work on behalf of island president Bruno Magras to heads of state (Polynesia, Monaco, etc). Her most recent work and inventions are one-of-a-kind pieces that light up in swimming pools, an innovative patented technology with an architectural accent.   Some of her collectors are rather well-known: Former French president François Mitterrand (Marianne des DOMTOM), Mr Le Pensec (Ministre des Dom Tom), Mme Hillary Rodham Clinton (her portrait), Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou (Bucket Regatta Collection), Mr Arnon Milchan, producer/Regency Production Hollywood (Mur de Planck), Mr Russel Simons (Buddha collection), certain European princes and princesses (portraits), and others around the world.
